Authentication is a physical gesture: phone to patch. No app, no account, no photographing receipts. About a second, then a verdict.

WHAT YOU DO

Hold a phone to the HOLLOW patch. The chip inside wakes off the phone’s field — it has no battery of its own — and hands the phone a link. Your browser opens it.

That is the entire user manual. It works on any NFC-capable phone made in the last several years, which at this point is most of them.

WHAT THE CHIP DOES

Each tap, the chip composes a fresh message: its identity plus a counter that only moves forward, signed with a key written once at encoding and never readable back out.

The signature is new every time. Yesterday’s message is dead on arrival tomorrow — which is why a copied link, a screenshot, or a reprinted tag gets a fake nowhere.

WHAT OUR SERVERS DO

The link lands on our verification service. It checks the signature against the piece’s identity, checks the counter actually advanced, pulls the record, and renders the verdict — status, provenance, current standing.

The tap itself is written into the piece’s history. A garment that gets verified often carries the receipts of it.

WHAT A FAKE DOES

It fails. Screenshot the verdict page: that is a picture. Copy the link: it replays a used counter and dies. Print a lookalike patch with no chip: there is nothing inside to sign with.

Every failure gets the same flat failure page. We do not say which check tripped — a verifier that explains its rejections is a tutoring service for counterfeiters.
